Lumixyl™ Topical Brightening Creme

Lumixyl™ is a non-toxic, non-irritating synthetic peptide technology developed by dermatological researchers at Stanford University, California, that improves the appearance of mild to moderate hyperpigmentation safely and effectively at concentrations as low as 0.01%.

It addresses mild to moderate hyperpigmentation, including:

Melasma
Age spots, sun spots or liver spots
Photodamage from sun exposure
Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation
Uneven skin tone
Hyperpigmentation caused by systemic disease or prescription medicines

Lumixyl™ is not like other skin lighteners on the market that achieve their effect through chemicals or irritating agents such as Retinoids or Vitamin C.

Rather, Lumixyl™ is a synthetic peptide composed of 10 amino acids. As a synthetic peptide, like a protein but shorter in length, Lumixyl™ is water soluble, non-irritating and easily degraded by the skin. Lumixyl™ does not topically bleach the skin nor is it toxic to melanin cells, as in the case of Hydroquinone.

Lumixyl™ is thought to work by inhibiting tyrosinase, the enzyme responsible for the production of melanin in the skin. In fact, in vitro studies show that Lumixyl™ is 5.5 times more effective than hydroquinone at equidosage in the moderation of melanin.

Preliminary clinical study results are being evaluated in large confirmatory trials and demonstrate the peptide's ability to yield visible results in improving the appearance of melasma. Study participants included persons who had previously been unsuccessful following six month terms using a hydroquinone, retinol, steroid regimen but reported visible improvements with Lumixyl™ in as little as 8 weeks with a 50% improvement after 16 weeks.
