Ceramides
Ceramides are a key ingredient of the barrier lipids (fats) in the stratum corneum (the outermost layer of the skin), along with cholesterol and essential fatty acids.
They protect the skin against moisture loss by helping it to retain water and are often added to skincare products.

Chloroxylenol
Chloroxylenol is a chemical compound that is commonly used in antibacterial soaps such as Dettol; it has been found to kill a wide variety of microbes, including bacteria, fungi, and the superbug MRSA, within 15 seconds. Its antibacterial action is due to disruption of cell membrane potentials, blocking production of adenosine triphosphate (effectively starving the cells).

Chrysin
Chrysin is a naturally occurring isoflavone (antioxidant compound) chemically extracted from the blue passion flower (Passiflora caerulea). It is thought to stimulate the enzyme involved in the breakdown of bilirubin (a yellow breakdown product from red blood cells that can be seen in bruises following bleeding into the skin).
